About this place

This immersive, free admission exhibition is reconstructed on the original site of the Kowloon Walled City, inside Kowloon Walled City Park. Curated by the production team of the award winning film Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, the exhibition features 1 to 1 scale replicas of the gritty 1980s enclave. Families and visitors are drawn to this unique exhibit to experience the daily lives of old Hong Kong residents, wandering through lifelike storefronts, dark alleys, and interactive multimedia displays.

Things to know

Arrive Early for Tickets

There is no online pre-booking system. To guarantee your entry slot, arrive at least 15 minutes before the ticket distribution times (8:45 AM or 1:45 PM).

Baby Carriers Over Strollers

While the surrounding park is flat and stroller-accessible, the movie exhibition sets recreate narrow, realistic 1980s alleyways which are tight and congested. Leaving large strollers outside the halls and using a baby carrier inside is highly recommended.

Sensory Triggers

Warn children about the sensory installations. The "Light & Shadow Rooftop" features very loud, realistic sound projections of low-flying aircraft. There are also scent-emitting installations in the fish ball factory and plastic workshop mimicking old factory smells.

Strict Timed Slots

Each collected ticket is valid for a strict 15-minute slot. If you are late, your ticket is voided, and you must collect a new ticket or join the walk-in queue.

Good to know

Can we book the exhibition tickets online in advance?
No. Admission is entirely free, but you must physically collect numbered, timed tickets on-site on the day of your visit.
Can I take my toddler or infant stroller into the movie sets?
While the wider Kowloon Walled City Park is accessible, the specific movie set exhibition recreates the claustrophobic, narrow streets of the 1980s Walled City. Strollers cannot easily navigate the tight exhibition spaces, so it is best to use a baby carrier.
What happens if we miss our scheduled 15-minute ticket slot?
Late tickets are immediately voided. If you miss your window, you will have to line up in the general walk-in queue (which fills remaining capacity) or collect a new ticket for a later session.
Are there family restrooms and places to buy food nearby?
The park features modern public toilets (including accessible restrooms and a themed restroom near the Northeast Gate) and water dispensers. While there are no dining options inside the park, the surrounding Kowloon City neighborhood is a famous food district packed with kid-friendly local bakeries, Thai eateries, and traditional cafes right outside the gates.
Is the exhibition suitable for children who are sensitive to loud noises?
Parents should be cautious. To replicate the historical atmosphere of planes landing at the old Kai Tak Airport, the "Rooftop" exhibition zone uses large-scale projection screens and highly realistic, loud airplane sound effects that might startle sensitive or very young children.
