Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-04
These Terms govern your use of the KidsOuting website and apps (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be 16 or older to create an account. By signing up you represent that you meet this requirement.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
- You may delete your account in-app at any time. Account deletion is irreversible.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Reviews and user content
- Reviews must be honest first-person accounts. No fake reviews, paid reviews, or competitor sabotage.
- Photos uploaded to reviews must not identify children. We remove violating content on report.
- By posting content you grant KidsOuting a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, reproduce, adapt, and translate it solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.
Intellectual property warranties, your responsibility for uploads
By uploading any image, text, or other material to the Service you represent and warrant that:
- You own all rights to the content, OR
- You have a valid licence or permission from the rights holder that permits public display and the licence grant in the previous section.
You agree to indemnify and hold KidsOuting (its directors, employees, and contractors) harmless against any claim, demand, loss or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with content you upload, including but not limited to claims of copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property infringement, defamation, or breach of privacy.
Copyright detection. Our upload pipeline reads image metadata (EXIF/IPTC) to detect embedded copyright signals. If detected, we will show you a confirmation prompt asking you to acknowledge that you own the content or have the right to use it. Proceeding past that prompt is a binding confirmation, recorded with your account, IP context, and timestamp for legal evidence. Repeatedly uploading content you do not own will result in account termination.
DMCA / Copyright takedown
If you believe content on KidsOuting infringes your copyright, please email copyright@kidsouting.com with: (i) identification of the work, (ii) the URL of the allegedly infringing content, (iii) your contact information, (iv) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and (v) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We respond within 14 days. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
This process is consistent with the safe harbour provisions of the Hong Kong Copyright Ordinance (Cap. 528) and the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Listings and businesses
Business owners may claim and manage their listing(s) subject to a paid subscription. Submitting false ownership information is grounds for revocation without refund.
Subscriptions, payments, refunds
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period. We do not generally offer refunds for partial periods, but contact us in case of error.
