The Best Kids Activities inHong Kong
Your trusted guide to the best things to do with kids, curated with love.
Every place here is checked and verified by us
KidsOuting is a directory of things to do with kids in Hong Kong: playgrounds, indoor play, museums, farms, beaches and proper days out. We keep the details that decide whether a family actually goes, which is the nearest MTR, whether it costs anything, what time it opens today, and which ages it suits.
No sponsored rankings and no invented reviews. If we have not checked a place, it is not here.

Say hello to Bobo
Bobo is our one-eyed, two-horned guide to Hong Kong. He has exactly one job: find the good stuff, then tell you where it is and how to get there.
You will spot him peeking over the harbour in the hero, bobbing along the bottom of the newsletter, and hiding somewhere on the district map. Children usually find him before their parents do, which is rather the point.
“Sixty-nine playgrounds in North district. I counted them myself.”
Questions parents ask
What is there to do with kids in Hong Kong when it rains?
154 of the places we list are indoor or air-conditioned, from museums and soft play to trampoline parks and ice rinks. The rain plan above shows all of them, and you can narrow by district and age. The list grows every day.
Are there free things to do with kids in Hong Kong?
Most of them. 730 of the 813 places we list cost nothing to walk into: every public playground, the public parks and gardens across all 18 districts, and 17 waterfront promenades. 76 of the free places are indoor, mostly government facilities such as sports-centre play rooms and museums with free admission. We add more every day.
Which part of Hong Kong is best for kids?
All of it, honestly. We list places in all 18 districts, from Sai Kung beaches and Sha Tin parks to Tsuen Wan, Kowloon and the outlying islands, and Hong Kong keeps turning up hidden spots we are still adding. Open the district map and start with your own neighbourhood.
Is KidsOuting free to use?
Yes. Searching, browsing and saving are free for parents and always will be. A venue can claim and update its own listing for free too.
How do you decide what gets listed?
Safety first. A place has to be genuinely suitable for kids and parents before it goes live. Every listing is checked against Google Maps for its location and hours, given real photos where we have them, and tagged with the ages it suits. Wherever we can, we visit in person to confirm a place is what it claims to be. Venues will be able to pay to promote a listing in future, and anything promoted will always be labelled as such.
Do you cover classes and events?
Not yet. Both are in progress, and we would rather show nothing than out-of-date dates. Join the newsletter and we will tell you the day they open.
