About this place

Yin Kong Playground is a public recreation space managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Tucked away in the quiet, rural village environment of Kwu Tung in the North District, it features a children's play area alongside an outdoor basketball court. Local families visit the playground to give children a casual, budget-friendly spot to play outdoors away from the urban hustle, often combining their visit with a walk through the neighboring Long Valley Nature Park.

Things to know

Beat the Humidity

The playground is fully outdoors with minimal shade. The best window to visit is between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or after 4:00 PM, to avoid intense heat and direct sun exposure.

Pack the Basics

Bring plenty of water, sun hats, and mosquito repellent (especially between April and October). Because this is a minor rural playground, there are rarely any on-site retail kiosk options for snacks or drinks.

Check the Weather

Heavy rain warnings (Amber and above) will cause this outdoor facility to clear out rapidly. Parents should check the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app before heading out.

Combine with Nature Walks

The playground is located right next to the Yin Kong Entrance of Long Valley Nature Park. You can easily pair a playground trip with a scenic walk to look at farming wetlands, birds, or seasonal flower fields.
