About this place

Sheung Shui Heung Sitting-out Area No. 9 is a small, outdoor municipal park and playground managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Located inside the traditional walled village area of Sheung Shui Wai (Po Sheung Tsuen), it serves as a quiet neighborhood spot where local families can bring children for outdoor play, use the elderly fitness facilities, and appreciate the unique village heritage.

The sitting-out area directly adjoins the walled village's merit stone steles and sits right next to the historic Tung Hing Tong communal hall, making it a great educational stop.

Accessibility

The concrete paths within the sitting-out area connecting to the play area and public toilet are flat and barrier-free, though they do not feature tactile guide paths.

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
