About this place

Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), Yau Yue Wan Children's Playground is a small, public neighborhood park located near Tseung Kwan O. Families visit this quiet playground for a crowd-free, relaxed outdoor experience where children can run around freely, play on the climbing and play equipment, and enjoy the calm village atmosphere.

Things to know

Beat the Humidity

To avoid the intense Hong Kong heat, the best windows to visit are between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or in the late afternoon after 4:00 PM.

Pack the Essentials

Bring water bottles, sun hats, a small first-aid kit, and mosquito repellent (highly recommended between April and October). There are no convenience stores or retail kiosks directly on-site.

Weather Warnings

If the Hong Kong Observatory issues an Amber rainfall warning or above, expect the outdoor playground to empty quickly due to safety.

Accessibility Notes

The playground features step-free entrances from King Yin Lane, though these are secured with metal bollards that can restrict wider double-strollers. Some access routes leading from Yau Yue Wan Village are stair-only paths with handrails only on one side and do not have tactile guide paths.

Good to knowGeneral guidance , know this venue? add detail

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
