Urban Council Centenary Garden Playground
Busy times
About this place
Built in 1984 to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the Urban Council, this public park is a lush, 4.5-hectare green oasis in Tsim Sha Tsui East. It features beautiful landscaped gardens, two large water fountains, and a public children's playground. Families can enjoy a scenic, open space to run, slide, and climb, while discovering six historic Greek-style stone columns salvaged from the former Kowloon-Canton Railway station.
Things to know
Beating the Heat
Due to high humidity and intense midday sun, the best times to visit are early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM).
Pack the Essentials
There are no major convenience stores directly inside the park, so parents should pack water, sun protection, and mosquito repellent (especially between April and October).
Weather Policy
Check the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app before leaving. The playground is fully outdoor and clears out immediately during Amber rainstorm warnings or higher.
Dog Policy
If visiting with pets, note that dogs are strictly restricted to a narrow 200-meter designated pet corridor/pathway. Dogs are not allowed in the main playground or general garden areas.
