About this place

Tsing Yi Northeast Park is a 5.8-hectare public park managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). Built along the northern shoreline of Tsing Yi Island and overlooking the Rambler Channel, it is highly popular with families. It features separate play areas tailored to different age groups, a seaside walking promenade, dedicated cycling tracks (including a flat area for beginners), a skateboard arena, and public sports facilities. Families visit to let their kids cycle, climb, and play safely in a scenic, breezy outdoor environment without any admission fees.

Things to know

Beat the Heat

The playground has very little natural canopy or shade, meaning it gets extremely hot during midday. The best visiting times during warm months are early morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM).

Pack the Basics

Ensure you bring hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Mosquitoes can be active near the landscaped garden areas (especially from April to October), so bug repellent is a must.

Cycling Rules

The park features a wonderful 1km loop track with gentle bridges and slopes for more experienced children, and a flat 50-meter practice track for beginners. However, riding bikes or scooters is strictly prohibited on the adjacent pedestrian promenade or jogging trails.

Bicycle Rental Kiosk

If you do not wish to bring your own, an on-site bike shop rents out kids' and adults' bicycles, helmets, and safety gear. Rental rates typically start at around HKD 50 per hour. Note that the kiosk is generally closed on Mondays.

Good to know

Can we rent bicycles directly inside the park?
Yes. There is an on-site bicycle rental kiosk offering various sizes of bicycles, including toddler and kids' models with training wheels. Rental rates start at approximately HKD 50 for 1 hour. Please note the kiosk is usually closed on Mondays.
What facilities are available for toddlers?
The park has a dedicated play area (Playground A) specifically for toddlers aged 2 to 5. It includes a safe play tower, low-height slides, toddler-friendly swings, spring riders, and a built-in sandpit with a small slide. It is also part of the LCSD's trial scheme allowing toddlers to ride balance bikes.
Is the playground completely outdoor, and is there any shade?
Yes, the playground is fully outdoor and built along the breezy northern shoreline. However, it lacks adequate overhead shade and can become very hot during peak hours. Parents advise bringing hats, umbrellas, and sunblock, or visiting after 4:00 PM.
Is there food available nearby?
There is an on-site kiosk that sells light snacks and drinks, as well as several vending machines. For restaurants and larger food courts, most families make the short 5-minute walk to Cheung Fat Plaza or take a quick trip back to Maritime Square at the MTR station.
Is it easy to find parking at the park?
There is a public fee-charging car park on-site. However, because the park is popular with sports teams utilizing the soccer pitch, spaces can fill up quickly on weekends and public holidays. Weekdays generally have plenty of empty parking spaces.
