About this place

Tsing Yi Park Playground is a tranquil, outdoor play space located inside the beautifully landscaped, European-style Tsing Yi Park. Families flock here to combine classic playground play with scenic nature strolls. The park is famous for its gorgeous ornamental lake, home to dozens of turtles and lotuses, a dramatic artificial waterfall, and large lawn areas perfect for picnics and family gatherings.

Things to know

Pack Bug Spray

Because of the extensive water features, including the artificial waterfall and ornamental lakes, midges and mosquitoes are highly active. Insect repellent is highly recommended.

Supervise Closely

The playground is not fully enclosed, and parts of it are spread across tiered levels with stairs. Given the park's large size and nearby open lakes, active supervision of wandering toddlers is a must.

Food and Vending

Vending machines are available for cold drinks. There is a small park restaurant on site (Lucky Snacks Cart Noodles, open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), but for a broader range of cafes and restaurants, families head to the adjacent Maritime Square mall.

Lawn Use

Unlike many highly restricted public parks in Hong Kong, Tsing Yi Park allows the use of leisure tents and picnic mats on its large amenity lawn.

Good to know

Is the playground shaded?
Yes. The play areas are heavily shaded by the park's mature, tall trees, and there is a covered pavilion with benches directly adjacent to the play equipment.
What play equipment is available for younger toddlers?
The park features a dedicated Toddlers' Play Area on flat ground with classic, safer equipment like low-height slides, a bridge, bouncy spring riders, and swings.
Where is the nearest restroom or changing room?
Public toilets and changing rooms are located opposite tennis courts 1 and 2 (about a 5-minute walk from the play areas). There is also a barrier-free accessible toilet next to the park restaurant.
Is the venue stroller-friendly?
Yes, the park features paved, wide walkways with flat ramps alongside any stairs. Wheelchair and stroller access throughout the park is very convenient.
Is there a sandpit at the playground?
No. Unlike some of Hong Kong's newer inclusive playgrounds, the play areas here have soft-padded safety surfacing instead of sand.
