About this place

Tin Ping Road Garden is a free public pleasure ground managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Located in Sheung Shui, it offers a peaceful, tree-shaded environment where families can enjoy a quiet outdoor escape away from busier, crowded recreational hubs. It is officially designated as an Inclusive Park for Pets, meaning families can also visit with their dogs.

Things to know

Pet-Friendly Area

Because this is an Inclusive Park for Pets, dogs are welcome and may be roaming on leashes. Parents should supervise children who might be anxious or unfamiliar around dogs.

Bring Water and Food

There are no dining facilities or convenience stores inside the garden itself. Be sure to bring plenty of drinking water, snacks, and basic first aid items for the kids.

Beat the Heat

To stay comfortable in the Hong Kong humidity, the best times to visit are early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late in the afternoon (after 4:00 PM) to avoid the direct midday sun.

Mosquito Protection

Due to the lush greenery, bugs are common. Packing and applying mosquito repellent is highly recommended, particularly from April through October.

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.

Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
