Busy times
About this place
Tucked away on Tsing Yi along Sheung Ko Tan Street, this modest outdoor sitting-out area and children's playground offers a peaceful, unpretentious spot for local families. With basic play facilities and benches nestled among quiet surroundings, it is popular with parents looking for a relaxed venue where toddlers can roam freely away from larger crowds.
Things to know
Pack the Essentials
Bring water bottles, sun hats, and mosquito repellent (mosquitoes are active, particularly between April and October). There are rarely shops or kiosks directly on-site.
Toilets
There are no dedicated public restrooms inside the sitting-out area. However, public restrooms are located a short walk away within the surrounding village (Chung Mei or Tsing Yi Lutheran New Village) or at Tsing Yi MTR station.
Humidity and Timing
To beat the intense Hong Kong humidity, the best window to visit is between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or late afternoon after 4:00 PM. The midday hours can get exceptionally hot as there is limited overhead shade.
Elderly Fitness Equipment
Alongside the children's play area, the venue features basic elderly fitness equipment, making it a convenient multigenerational rest stop for grandparents and toddlers alike.
