About this place

Mei King Playground is a free, low-key public park and neighborhood playground located on Tsing Yi Island. Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the park is popular with local families who want an uncrowded, genuine neighborhood play experience. Alongside typical playground equipment, it features multiple free-to-use sports facilities, offering a relaxed environment where kids can run and burn off energy.

Things to know

Pack the Essentials

There are no food or drink kiosks directly inside the playground. Parents should pack water bottles, sun hats, a small first-aid kit, and mosquito repellent (highly recommended between April and October).

Beat the Humidity

The best times to visit are early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM) to avoid the peak heat and direct sun of the midday.

Check the Weather First

Because the facility is completely outdoors, check the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app before departing. If an Amber, Red, or Black rainstorm warning is issued, the playground will empty out and become unusable.

Barrier-Free Features

The playground includes accessible facilities such as a tactile guide path and a braille directory map or floor plan.
