About this place

Leung Uk Children's Playground is a small, quiet, outdoor neighborhood playground managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). Located in Leung Uk Tsuen within the historic fishing village of Tai O on Lantau Island, it serves as a recreation spot for local village families and visitors looking for a quiet break. Families visit so their children can enjoy classic playground equipment (such as swings and climbing structures) in a slow-paced, rustic village setting near Tai O's scenic wetlands, marshes, and stilt houses.

Things to know

Lantau Closed Road Restriction

Standard private vehicles cannot drive to Tai O without a special Lantau Closed Road Permit. You must use public transport or a blue Lantau taxi.

Stroller Access

The playground entrance connecting to the village walking path is wide, flat, and barrier-free, making it easily accessible for strollers.

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
