The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is a vibrant, non-profit cultural and educational institution situated on Victoria Harbour. Spread across multiple decks, it showcases over 1,200 objects, including intricately constructed ship models, ancient navigational instruments, maritime art, and marine science exhibits. Families visit to explore interactive multimedia displays, play in hands-on simulators, learn about local history (from pirates to modern trade), and enjoy stunning 270-degree views of the harbor.

Stroller Friendly
The museum is highly stroller-friendly, featuring elevators and wide corridors. Clear bypass paths and lifts are provided for any gallery transitions with stairs.
Bridge Simulator Slots
The KM Koo Ship Bridge Simulator is a massive hit but operates on limited scheduled sessions (usually on weekends) and often requires advance booking. Check their online schedule before visiting.
Adult Supervision Required
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during their visit.
Discounted Admission
Standard admission is very affordable (Adults: HK$30; Children aged 3 to 18: HK$15; Under 3: Free). LCSD Museum Pass holders receive a 50% discount on adult entry.

Getting here
From Hong Kong Station, take Exit A2 and walk straight along the pedestrian footbridge over Man Yiu Street to the Central Ferry Piers (about a 5-minute walk). From Central Station, take Exit A, walk through the IFC Mall, and follow the elevated footbridge network to Pier 8 (about a 10 to 15-minute walk).
Take any bus terminating at the Central Ferry Piers Bus Terminus, such as routes 307, 5X, 722, 930X, 978, and 780. The Big Bus Tours (Red Route) also stops directly outside Central Pier 7.
Drive towards the Central Harbourfront along Man Yiu Street or Finance Street. General public parking is not available on-site at Pier 8, but you can park at the nearby ifc mall Car Park or the Star Ferry Multi-storey Car Park.
Walk via the elevated Central pedestrian walkway system from the core CBD, Landmark, or IFC Mall directly to the waterfront piers. It is a scenic 10 to 15-minute stroll.
