About this place
Managed by Hong Kong's Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), Chow Tin Tsuen Children's Playground is a small, free public outdoor recreation area located in the New Territories. It provides local children with basic play amenities and features an outdoor basketball court. Local families and residents use it as a quiet neighborhood spot for casual play and recreation.
Things to know
Closed Area Permit Required
The playground is situated in the Frontier Closed Area near the border. Non-residents of the village or those who do not possess a valid Closed Area Permit cannot legally access or enter this area.
Bring Your Own Supplies
Since this is a remote village playground, there are no kiosks or convenience stores immediately nearby. It is essential to pack your own water bottles, snacks, and a basic first aid kit.
Beat the Sun and Pests
The park has limited natural shade. To avoid the intense Hong Kong heat, visit early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or after 4:00 PM. Always bring sun hats and mosquito repellent.
No Court Lighting
The outdoor basketball court does not have floodlights. Plan sports activities during daylight hours.
