About this place

Managed by the LCSD, this small and quiet public outdoor playground is tucked away in Lower Cheung Sha Village on South Lantau Island. It is a perfect, crowd-free spot for kids to run around, climb, and burn off energy, especially when combined with a family trip to the nearby Cheung Sha Beach.

Things to know

Beat the Heat

The playground is outdoors with minimal shade. Visit before 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM to avoid the intense midday sun.

Pack the Basics

There are no convenience shops right next to the play area. Bring plenty of water, sun hats, and sunscreen.

Mosquito Protection

As the playground is in a lush coastal village, mosquito repellent is highly recommended, especially from April to October.

Weather Warning

The playground is completely open-air. It will become unsafe and empty during heavy rain or storm warnings.

Good to know

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
