Busy times
About this place
Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), this small sitting-out area and outdoor playground is tucked away on Tung Chung Road, directly adjacent to the historic 19th-century Tung Chung Fort. Families visit this neighborhood favorite to let their kids burn off energy in a relaxed, green setting, often combining the play stop with a cultural walk around the adjacent monument.
Things to know
Mosquito Protection is Essential
Being in a lush, tree-shaded village setting on Lantau Island, mosquito repellent is highly recommended, especially between April and October.
Pack the Basics
There are rarely any commercial shops directly on site. Parents must bring their own water bottles, sun hats, snacks, and a small first aid kit.
Combine with History
The playground sits right next to the historic Tung Chung Fort. You can easily pair playground time with an educational stroll to see the Qing dynasty cannons and old school buildings.
Beat the HK Humidity
Because the area is completely outdoor, the best window for a pleasant visit is between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or after 4:00 PM. Midday hours (especially during summer) can get extremely hot.
