About this place

Tucked away in the scenic Cheung Chau Park, this public outdoor children's playground was completely revitalized under the co-designed theme "Island Vibrancy". Drawing on the imaginations of local kids and residents, it is a creative, community-focused play space that offers a quiet coastal escape from the city hustle.

Things to know

Beat the Humidity

The playground is fully outdoors and has limited shade. The best times to visit are early in the morning (8:00 am to 10:00 am) or late afternoon (after 4:00 pm).

Pack the Basics

There are no commercial kiosks inside the park. Be sure to pack water bottles, sun hats, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent (especially between April and October).

Check the HKO Weather App

Because the park is completely outdoors, check the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app before traveling. The playground empties rapidly during Amber, Red, or Black rainstorm warnings.

Onsite Facilities

The playground features accessible public toilets, changing rooms, and a drinking fountain within the park.

Good to know

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
