About this place

Spanning 91.5 hectares, Ocean Park Hong Kong is the city's largest theme park by area. It uniquely blends educational wildlife habitats, including giant pandas and a world-class aquarium, with thrilling amusement rides, cultural streetscapes, and panoramic cable car rides. Families visit for a well-rounded day of hands-on wildlife discovery, conservation learning, and high-energy thrills.

Things to know

Transitioning Between Zones

The park is split into The Waterfront and The Summit. Choose the scenic Cable Car (requires folding strollers completely) or the fast Ocean Express train (highly stroller and wheelchair friendly).

Dress and Weather Prep

Wear comfortable walking shoes for long distances and steep climbs. Pack a light jacket for kids, as transitioning from outdoor heat to freezing polar indoor exhibits can be jarring. Bring sun protection and mosquito repellent.

Stroller Rental

Strollers are available for rent at Aqua City near the main entrance for HK$140 to HK$150 per day, plus a refundable security deposit of HK$100.

Baby Care Rooms

Well-equipped baby care facilities featuring bottle warmers, baby changers, and private nursing seats are distributed across major areas of the park.

Good to know

Is Ocean Park suitable for toddlers or very young children?
Yes! While older kids enjoy the rollercoasters, toddlers have a dedicated zone called Whiskers Harbour with gentle rides and play areas. The aquariums, panda habitats, and penguin enclosures are also highly engaging for toddlers.
Can we bring our own snacks and water into the park?
Generally, outside food and drinks are not permitted, and bags are checked at the gate. However, exceptions are made for baby food, formula, or guests with dietary restrictions. Inside, you will find restaurants and snack kiosks.
How do we transport our stroller between the Waterfront and the Summit?
The Ocean Express train is the easiest choice because it features a wide roll-on, roll-off design with no stairs. If you ride the Cable Car, you must fold up your stroller completely and carry it up a few stairs to board.
Should we buy a Fast Track Pass (Ocean FasTrack) for our kids?
If visiting on weekends, public holidays, or school breaks, wait times can exceed an hour, making a Fast Track Pass very helpful to prevent kids from getting fussy. On off-peak weekdays, it is generally unnecessary.
What should we do if we want to ride a coaster but have small kids with us?
You can use the park's Guardian Switch service. This allows one parent to queue and ride while the other waits with the kids, and then swap places without standing in the main queue again.
