About this place
Spanning approximately 3.8 hectares, Tung Chung North Park is a well-maintained public park in the New Territories managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). Families frequent the venue for its beautifully equipped Children's Play Area, which provides safe play for toddlers and climbing structures for older children. Alongside the playground, visitors can explore the Chinese Herb Garden, pet garden, elderly fitness corner, and skateboard ground, all while enjoying panoramic views of the Lantau mountains.
Things to know
Pack the Essentials
Bring water bottles, sun hats, and mosquito repellent (highly recommended from April to October). There is no convenience store directly inside the park, so bringing snacks is advised.
Beat the Heat
Plan your visit between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM during the hot and humid months to avoid the midday sun, though the park does feature shaded seating areas.
Watch the Weather
Since it is entirely outdoor, check the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app before heading out; rain or Amber, Red, or Black storm warnings will make the playground wet and unusable.
Breezy Location
The park sits relatively close to the waterfront and can get quite windy; consider packing a light windbreaker jacket for younger kids.
