About this place

Tin Ha Wan Garden is a quiet, pocket-sized public garden and passive recreation space managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. It serves as a neighborhood green space where local families and children can enjoy a quick outdoor break away from busier town centers, offering a peaceful village-fringe setting.

Things to know

Smoke-Free Environment

The entire garden and playground area is a designated non-smoking public venue.

Minimalist Play Facilities

This is a passive neighborhood garden rather than an active destination-style park. Play facilities are extremely basic, featuring a single, independent slide set on a cushioned safety mat.

Barrier-Free Layout

The park was upgraded under the government's barrier-free access program to include compliant tactile guide paths and accessible pathways.

No Direct Toilets

There are no public restrooms located inside the garden itself. The nearest facilities are in neighboring commercial estates or nearby public properties.

Getting here

By MTR

Take the Tseung Kwan O Line to Hang Hau MTR Station. Exit from Exit B and walk via Pui Shing Road or Pui Shing Lane, heading onto Chiu Shun Road. The total walking distance is approximately 920 meters, taking roughly 10 to 12 minutes.

By Bus

Several bus and green minibus routes serving Tseung Kwan O Hospital or Chiu Shun Road pass nearby, including routes 98D, 297, 792M, and minibuses 11M, 101M. Alight at Chiu Shun Road and walk 2 to 3 minutes.

By car

Drive towards Chiu Shun Road or Tin Chau Road in Hang Hau. Since there is no public parking on site, drivers must use nearby commercial multi-story car parks like East Point City or Nan Fung Plaza, or local village outdoor lots like Tin Ha Wan Village Outdoor Car Park.

By Taxi

Taxis can drop off passengers directly on Chiu Shun Road near the garden entrance.

By Walking

Pedestrians can easily access the park via the footpaths connecting from nearby housing estates like Yuk Ming Court and Chiu Ming Court.

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
