About this place

Tan Chuk Hang Children's Playground is a small, quiet, outdoor neighborhood playground managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Located in the rural village area of Fanling within the New Territories, it primarily serves local village families looking for a peaceful play space and outdoor recreation, as well as hikers passing through the scenic surrounding countryside.

Things to know

No Night Lighting

The playground does not have floodlights. It is not suitable for visits after dark as there is no artificial lighting for play.

Mosquito Protection

Because the playground sits near the forested Tan Shan River and rural vegetation, mosquito and bug activity is highly intense. Mosquito repellent is a must.

Pack Your Own Supplies

Located in a remote rural village enclave, there are no immediate convenience stores, vending machines, or restaurants on-site. Parents must pack plenty of drinking water and snacks.

Refurbished Facilities

The playground features basic children's outdoor play equipment and one outdoor table tennis table, with upgraded seating benches, floor safety surfaces, and boundary fencing.

Good to knowGeneral guidance , know this venue? add detail

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
