Sai Yee Street Children's Playground
Busy times
About this place
Sai Yee Street Children's Playground is a free outdoor public recreational area managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Tucked into the bustling Mong Kok and Prince Edward neighborhood, it serves as a convenient stop for local families to let their children play, climb, and slide while taking a quick break from the surrounding shopping crowds and busy streets.
Things to know
Beat the Heat
As an entirely outdoor facility, the playground can get extremely hot and humid. The best windows to visit are in the early morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM).
Pack Essentials
There are no retail shops directly inside the playground. Parents should bring water bottles, sun hats, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent (particularly from April to October).
Proximity to Public Facilities
The Sai Yee Street Public Toilet and a refuse collection point are located immediately adjacent to the playground, which can occasionally impact the surrounding smell depending on the weather.
Redevelopment Notice
The playground is situated within the URA's Sai Yee Street and Flower Market Road Development Scheme (YTM 013). The area is slated for future urban renewal to be integrated into a larger, state of the art Waterway Park, so the layout may change as the project progresses.
