Lai Chi Kok Road / Tai Nam Street Sitting-out Area Playground
Busy times
About this place
Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong, this modest outdoor playground and sitting-out area sits at the intersection of Lai Chi Kok Road and Tai Nam Street. Unlike sprawling destination parks, it serves as an intimate neighborhood spot where local families bring young children to run around in a safe, crowd-free open-air setting. It is highly convenient for a brief afternoon break or a quick play session on the way home.
Things to know
Available Rest Facilities
The area is densely fitted with 74 seats (ranging from stone, metal, and eco-wood plastic benches), stone chess tables, and 6 pavilions (3 stone, 3 metal-framed arbours) for resting and rain shelter.
Beat the HK Humidity
The best times to visit are either early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or in the late afternoon (after 4:00 PM). Midday hours offer very little natural shade.
Pack the Basics
Ensure you bring your own water bottles, sun hats, and mosquito repellent (especially during the humid April-to-October window). There are no direct commercial shops or kiosks inside this pocket space.
Community Shared Space
Because it is a small municipal park in a dense urban neighborhood, parents should note that local seniors and street sleepers occasionally use the pavilions to rest or read.
