About this place

Ma Tseuk Leng Children's Playground is a small, public outdoor park managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Situated in the traditional Hakka village of Ma Tseuk Leng in the New Territories, it serves as a quiet play area for local village families and a resting point for hikers embarking on the nearby Robin's Nest (紅花嶺) trails. Additionally, the playground is designated as an official Inclusive Park for Pets.

Things to know

Pet-Friendly Policy

The entire park is designated as a Pet-Inclusive zone. Families are welcome to bring dogs, provided they are kept on a leash and pet waste is properly discarded in the onsite dog excreta collection bin.

Onsite Restrooms

Although the playground itself has minimal built-in facilities, the Sheung Ma Tseuk Leng Public Toilet is located directly adjacent to or opposite the play area, making bathroom breaks very convenient.

No Shops Nearby

There are no kiosks, convenience stores, or restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Parents must bring their own water, snacks, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent.

Basic Amenities

Onsite amenities are limited to a shade pavilion, park benches, and the pet waste collection bin.

Good to knowGeneral guidance , know this venue? add detail

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
