Designed with traditional Chinese courtyard (siheyuan) architecture on the banks of the Shing Mun River, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum houses 12 exhibition galleries (6 permanent and 6 thematic). Families flock here primarily for the highly interactive Children’s Discovery Gallery, which features hands-on play zones, as well as family-friendly displays focusing on local popular culture, Cantonese opera, and martial arts (including a permanent Bruce Lee exhibition).

Free Permanent Exhibitions
General admission to all permanent exhibitions, including the Children's Discovery Gallery, the Bruce Lee exhibition, and the Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall, is completely free.
Interactive Play Zones
The Children's Discovery Gallery features 8 fun zones where kids can dress up to cook a traditional basin feast, discover local wildlife, and explore nostalgic childhood toys.
Baby Care & Stroller Loans
A fully equipped baby care room is located on the ground floor. You can also borrow baby strollers for free from the ground floor enquiry counter on a first-come, first-served basis.
No Onsite Parking
The museum's public car park is closed due to construction. Families driving should use nearby public parking lots or take public transit.

Getting here
Take the Tuen Ma Line to Che Kung Temple Station (Exit A) and enjoy a scenic, flat 6-minute walk across the footbridge. Alternatively, walk 15 minutes from Tai Wai Station (Exit A) or 20 minutes from Sha Tin Station (Exit A3).
Route 72A stops directly at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Other nearby routes include 282, 287X, 249X, 170, and 182.
Drive via Lion Rock Tunnel Road or Tai Po Road. As the onsite car park is closed, please park at nearby public parking lots like New Town Plaza.
Taxis can enter the museum grounds to drop off or pick up passengers directly inside the designated area of the former car park.
