About this place

Fan Leng Lau Road Playground is a public urban park located in the Luen Wo Hui area of Fanling. Situated as a peaceful green belt between the residential estates of Wing Fuk Centre and Union Plaza, it serves as a quiet neighborhood getaway. Families and local residents visit the playground to enjoy its outdoor children's play facilities, walk or jog along its paved tracks, or practice gateball. Notably, the playground's modern public toilet and storehouse buildings feature an innovative, block-like architectural design that won the prestigious President's Prize at the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Annual Awards in 2004.

Things to know

Stay Hydrated

Although public drinking fountains are onsite, parents are highly recommended to bring plenty of their own drinking water, especially on hot summer days.

Check the Weather

Because the park is entirely outdoor and has limited sheltered structures, keep an eye on weather forecasts before visiting.

No Evening Gateball

The grass gateball courts do not have floodlighting, so make sure any active sports sessions are scheduled well before sunset.

Smoke-Free Environment

Smoking is strictly prohibited across the entire playground and park grounds.

Good to know

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
