About this place

Dino Park is a free outdoor rooftop playground on Level 5 of New Town Plaza Phase I in Sha Tin, designed for children aged 2 to 12. Its centerpiece is a 7-metre-tall Tyrannosaurus climbing frame with three slides, alongside a 23-metre zipline and sensory play equipment.

The entire space is unsheltered with very limited shade, so metal and plastic structures get hot in direct sunlight. There are no toilets inside the play area, but the mall has family facilities just indoors. Daily cleaning closures run from 1:30pm to 2:30pm and 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

Things to know

Daily cleaning closures

The park shuts for cleaning every day from 1:30pm to 2:30pm and 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Plan around these breaks so children do not get turned away mid-play.

Completely outdoor and unshaded

There is minimal shade across the 35,000-square-foot roof podium. Visit in the early morning or late afternoon, and bring hats, sunscreen and water. Bad weather will close the park.

Peak weekend crowd tickets

Admission is free with no advance booking needed. On busy weekends and public holidays, staff may hand out physical tickets on site to control crowds.

Sensible shoes needed

Children climb metal frames, rope bridges and high netting throughout the main dinosaur. Closed-toe sneakers with good grip are much safer than sandals.
