Good to know

Does my child need prior climbing experience or gear to visit?
No prior experience is needed. First-timers can sign up for the 1-hour trial bouldering lesson which includes rental climbing shoes, chalk, and safety supervision from qualified coaches.
At what age can my child start bouldering at BoulderMAD?
Children as young as 5 can start participating in the specialized kids' climbing courses, which are excellent for developing coordination, motor skills, and problem-solving.
Is bouldering safe for young kids since there are no ropes?
Yes, bouldering is very safe when proper techniques are followed. The wall height is capped around 4 meters, and the floor is completely covered in deep safety mats. In the intro class, coaches place heavy emphasis on teaching kids how to fall and land safely on their feet or bottoms to prevent injuries.
Are parents allowed to watch or do we have to climb too?
Parents are welcome to watch, but bouldering is designed as a highly interactive, cross-generational sport where parents and kids can figure out climbing puzzles together. If parents choose not to climb, they can easily supervise from the designated seating area.
Is there a time limit on a day-pass visit?
General day passes allow unlimited, same-day entry and exit during operating hours. If your kid gets tired, you can take a lunch break in the Kwun Tong area and return later to climb more.
