Aqualuna is one of the last remaining traditional, hand-crafted wooden red-sail Chinese junk boats in Hong Kong, built using age-old techniques by an 80-year-old local master craftsman. Families visit to enjoy a gentle and historic maritime adventure, taking in a 360-degree panoramic view of Victoria Harbour and the city's towering skyline from comfortable lounge daybeds.
Things to know
Stepping Across the Gap
Boarding requires stepping across an open gap between the pier and the swaying boat. Staff are highly attentive and will help carry kids and strollers, but parents must hold toddlers firmly.
Stairs and Railings
The wooden stairs connecting the lower and upper decks are narrow and steep. The upper deck has open-style railings, meaning parents must supervise active children closely.
Arrive 15 to 20 Minutes Early
Seating is entirely unreserved and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To get a prime spot (such as the upper deck lounge beds), make sure your family is in the queue early.
Breeze and Chills
Even in the summer, the wind on the harbour can feel strong and cool, especially during sunset and evening sails. Staff occasionally provide blankets, but it is wise to pack light jackets for the kids.

Getting here
Take the MTR to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station and take Exit L6. Walk straight, cross Salisbury Road, and head past the right side of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre to Public Pier No. 1 near the Clock Tower (2 to 3 minutes walk). Alternatively, use Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit E (5 to 7 minutes walk).
Get off at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre or Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Terminus. Key routes include 1, 1A, 2, 5, 5A, 5C, 6, 7, 8, 8A, 8P, 28, and 281A, followed by a 2 to 5 minute walk to the pier.
Direct the driver to drop off at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry taxi stand or along Salisbury Road outside the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, then walk 2 minutes along the promenade to Public Pier 1.
If arriving via the Star Ferry, turn right upon exiting the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry terminal and walk about 5 minutes along the Avenue of Stars promenade past the Clock Tower and Cultural Centre to Pier 1.
