About this place

Pak Kong Garden is a free, quiet, public outdoor neighborhood playground and garden managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong. Nestled in a serene village setting in Sai Kung, it serves as a peaceful escape where families can bring younger children for a quick, uncrowded outdoor play break amid lush greenery.

Things to know

Beat the Humidity

The best times to visit are 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM to avoid the peak heat and humidity.

Pack the Essentials

Make sure to bring your own water bottles, sun hats, and mosquito repellent (especially from April to October). There are no retail shops or convenience stores directly on site.

Check the Weather

Because this is an entirely outdoor space, check the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app before leaving. The playground empties out quickly if an Amber rainfall warning or above is active.

Good to knowGeneral guidance , know this venue? add detail

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
