About this place

Tucked away in Kwai Tsing near Kwai Chung Estate, Hang Ping Street Playground is a compact, fuss-free outdoor neighborhood park managed by the LCSD. Families love this quiet spot for its free play facilities, including climbing frames, slides, and swings. It also features a 5-a-side hard-surface soccer pitch, spectator stands, and senior fitness equipment. A highlight of visiting is the adjacent covered inclined lift system that connects the estate to the lower transit areas, making it a highly accessible and fun entry point for families pushing strollers.

Things to know

Inclined Lift Ride

The playground's upper entrance sits directly next to Hong Kong's rare covered inclined lift system. Pushing a stroller up to the playground via this system from Kwong Fai Circuit is highly accessible, fun, and fully barrier-free.

Sun and Bug Protection

Since the play areas are entirely outdoor and uncovered, it can get hot. It is recommended to visit between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM to avoid the midday sun. Pack mosquito repellent, especially between April and October.

Bring Water and Snacks

There are no convenience stores or food kiosks inside the playground itself. However, a room-temperature drinking water dispenser is located outside the men's toilet.

Toilets

Public toilets, including men's, ladies', and a barrier-free accessible toilet, are conveniently located on-site.
