About this place

Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), this is a free-entry public outdoor playground nestled in the peaceful village environment of Chi Tong Tsuen in Tai Po. It offers a standard selection of basic play structures, serving as a quiet community spot where local families can let younger children play, climb, and slide in a low-key, relaxed setting.

Things to know

Bring the Essentials

There are no convenience stores directly next to the playground. Parents should pack plenty of drinking water, sun hats, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent (highly recommended, especially from April to October).

Avoid the Midday Heat

Because it is an outdoor facility with limited overhead shade, midday temperatures can make the equipment hot. The best times to visit are early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM).

Barrier-Free Facilities

The playground is equipped with barrier-free access features, including accessible entrances, routes, and tactile guide paths.

Rainfall Precautions

Keep an eye on local weather via the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) app. If an Amber rainfall warning or above is issued, the playground empties out quickly as it is completely exposed to the elements.

Getting here

By MTR

Alight at Tai Wo MTR Station (East Rail Line). The playground is over 2.5 km away, so it is best to take a taxi or a connecting bus or minibus from the station.

By Bus

Take KMB routes 73, 73A, 73B, 74C, 74D, 271P, 273C, 373, N73, or N373 to the Tai Hang stop on Tai Wo Service Road West, then walk about 5 minutes into the village. Alternatively, take Green Minibus 25A to Tai Hang Village Office.

By car

Drive via Fanling Highway and exit toward Tai Wo Service Road West. There is no onsite parking, so you must find public metered parking or legal street parking in the adjacent Tai Hang or Tai Wo village areas.

By Taxi

Taxis are readily available from Tai Wo MTR Station and take about 5 to 10 minutes to reach Chi Tong Tsuen.

By Walking

Once inside the village, follow the pedestrian pathways past the Tai Hang Tsz Tong Tsuen Village Office to reach the playground.

Good to know

Is there a fee?
No. Public playgrounds in Hong Kong are free to enter and run by the LCSD.
What ages is this best for?
Most LCSD playgrounds suit ages 2 to 12, with separate toddler and older kid equipment. The exact setup varies by site.
Are there toilets nearby?
Usually yes. Most LCSD parks have public toilets within a five minute walk, and the nearest MTR station is a good backup.
What is the best time to go?
Mornings before noon are cooler and quieter, and late afternoon after the school rush works well too. In summer, avoid roughly noon to 3pm.
