About this place
Located inside the high-end ELEMENTS Mall in West Kowloon, The Rink is Hong Kong's first ice skating rink to pioneer the pay as you skate model. By doing away with ticket booths and fixed session times, it allows families to slide onto the ice using their Octopus cards and pay flexibly by the minute. Offering stunning 180 degree views of Victoria Harbour through its floor to ceiling glass wall, it is a highly popular, eco-friendly destination for family outings, recreational skating, and youth hockey.
Things to know
No Ticket Booths
You do not need to queue for tickets. Entry to the ice is gained by tapping an Octopus card at the turnstiles.
Per-Minute Charges
Skating rates range from HK$1.0 to HK$1.7 per minute depending on the time and day. A basic admission and skate rental fee of HK$20 per pair is charged upon entry (though the admission fee is waived if you exit within 30 minutes).
Skate Aids for Kids
To help children find their balance, parents can rent cute animal shaped safety handrails (such as penguins, seals, bears, and dolphins). These cost HK$80 for 30 minutes or HK$100 for 1 hour, requiring a refundable deposit of HK$100.
Mandatory Gear & Warm Clothing
Thick socks and gloves are required for warmth and safety. If forgotten, socks can be purchased for HK$35 and gloves for HK$30. The immediate area surrounding the ice can get chilly, so bring a light jacket.
