About this place

M+ is the contemporary art museum in the West Kowloon Cultural District, where families come for exhibitions, free drop-ins and family workshops. Children 6 and under go in free, and the Grand Stair, B1, B2, the Mediatheque, Found Space and the Roof Garden are free for everyone.

Strollers are welcome in the galleries, and M+ lends them free on a first-come, first-served basis. Lifts connect every floor, all toilets have baby changing tables, and there are five baby care rooms. Food and drink stay in the cafes and restaurants. The museum is closed on Mondays and open until 10pm on Fridays.

Strollers are allowed in the galleries, and M+ lends them free, first come first served. Lifts connect all floors, and you can leave your own stroller in the B1 cloakroom.

Baby care rooms

There are five baby care facilities, on B2, B1, the ground floor (two) and Level 2. Every toilet also has a baby changing table.

Bag size rule

Bags larger than 30 x 42 x 10 cm go in a locker (HK$5 to HK$10 per hour) or the cloakroom (HK$10 per hour). Backpacks you keep must be worn on your front.

Eat in the cafes only

Food and drink are only allowed in the cafes and restaurants, not in the galleries. Photos for personal use are welcome, with the flash off.

By MTR

Kowloon Station Exit C1 or D1: follow signs to the footbridge exit on Level 2 of ELEMENTS (Metal Zone). Exit E4 or E5: walk along Nga Cheung Road to Museum Drive. Austin Station Exit B4 or B5 goes through ELEMENTS. Each takes 10 to 15 minutes.

By Bus

From Austin Station Exit D2, take a bus or minibus to the West Kowloon Cultural District. Bus routes serving the Museum Drive and Austin Road West area include 215P and 296D.

By car

Park at the M+ Car Park or the Art Park Car Park.

By Taxi

By Walking

From Central, the WestK Ferry runs between Central Pier 9 and WestK Quay, 8am to 10pm on weekdays and until 11pm at weekends and on public holidays.

Good to know

Is M+ free for kids?

Yes for ages 6 and under, who do not need a ticket. Children 7 to 11 pay the HK$100 concession price, against HK$190 standard, and a Kid & Adult Combo for one adult and one child is HK$250.

What are M+ opening hours?

10am to 6pm Tuesday to Thursday and at weekends, and 10am to 10pm on Fridays. M+ is closed on Mondays but opens on public holidays unless announced otherwise.

Can I bring a stroller into M+?

Yes. Strollers are welcome in the galleries, and M+ also lends strollers free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I get to M+ by MTR?

Walk 10 to 15 minutes from Kowloon Station (Exit C1, D1, E4 or E5) or Austin Station (Exit B4 or B5). From Exits C1 and D1, follow the signs to the footbridge exit on Level 2 of ELEMENTS (Metal Zone).

Is there parking at M+?

Yes. Use the M+ Car Park next to the M+ building or the Art Park Car Park. Both have accessible spaces.
