Hang Ming Street Sitting-out Area

About this place
Hang Ming Street Sitting-out Area Playground is a compact, open-air public neighborhood park managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). It is mostly known for its relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere, making it a comfortable spot for families with younger kids who prefer quieter play spaces. While it contains simple play facilities and basic amenities, it becomes highly popular in the spring (typically February to March) when its cherry trees burst into vibrant pink blossoms, attracting families and photographers alike.
Things to know
Bring Essentials
Since there are no convenience shops or vending machines directly inside the sitting-out area, make sure to bring your own water bottles, sun hats, and mosquito repellent (especially between April and October).
Restrooms
There are no restrooms built directly inside this small sitting-out area. The nearest public toilets are situated at Phase II of the adjacent Ma On Shan Promenade, or inside the nearby Heng On MTR station.
No Cycling Allowed
There is a cycling track that passes close by, but bicycles and scooters are strictly prohibited inside the sitting-out area for safety reasons. Security guards occasionally patrol to enforce this rule.
Seasonal Cherry Blossoms
If you visit during late winter/early spring (February to March), look out for the blooming Sakura trees. It is a wonderful spot for a family photo, though it can get slightly busier during peak bloom.
