About this place

The BIG picnic takes place at Tai Pak Beach in Discovery Bay on Saturday 21 November 2026, running from 11am to 10pm for families of all ages. Children aged 0 to 5 enter for free, with dedicated youth tickets for ages 5 to 17.

Kids can play in the Tekkers interactive sports zone, build sandcastles by the water, and browse the Handmade Hong Kong market along the promenade until 8pm. You get an entry wristband that allows unlimited re-entry throughout the day, which makes it easy to pop into the adjacent plaza for nursing rooms and meals.

Things to know

Baby carrier recommended

The route from the ferry pier through DB Plaza is completely step-free, but pushing strollers across soft beach sand is difficult. Park your pram by the promenade edge or use a baby carrier once on the sand.

Arrive before 2pm

Arriving between 11am and 2pm gives families more open sand space, daytime family activities, and calmer acoustic sets before evening rock crowds arrive.

No outside food

Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the ticketed festival zone. Stalls sell refreshments inside, or you can use your wristband to step out to DB Plaza restaurants.

Bring ear protection

Sound levels near the Tai Pak and Chek Lap Kok stage speakers are loud. Pack ear defenders for young children, or lay your picnic mat further back toward the water.
