Things to know

Expect queues at peak

Tickets are for a morning, afternoon or Friday night session, and popular stations can have queues and time limits at busy times. Keep a little patience in the bag for the favourites.

Under 7s go free

Children 6 and under do not need a ticket, and kids aged 7 to 11 pay HK$100. The combo sets cost HK$250 for one adult and one child, or HK$400 for two adults and one child.

Free Sunday family drop-ins

On the last two Sundays of each month from October to December, drop in for free drawing and 20-minute story sessions in Cantonese or English. No booking needed.

Bring the stroller

Strollers are welcome inside and free ones can be borrowed. Backpacks must be worn on the front, so a small bag is easier.

Good to know

Do I need a separate ticket for Design Ah!?

No. One M+ Ticket (HK$190, or HK$100 concession) covers Design Ah! and every other gallery in the museum.

Is it good for toddlers?

Yes. M+ describes it as family friendly and its tied drop-in activities suit children of all ages. Under 12s must be supervised at all times.

When is it open?

Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, and Fridays until 10pm, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. It is closed on Mondays, but opens on Monday 5 October and stays open until 8pm on Saturday 3 October.

How long should we plan?

Families usually spend about 45 minutes on the 21 stations, longer if you join a Sunday drop-in. Popular stations can have queues at peak times.

Where can I buy tickets?

On the M+ website or at Cityline, Klook, KKday, Trip.com and China Travel Service. Klook was selling from HK$186.
