About this place
Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), Tsang Tai Uk Recreation Ground is a versatile outdoor public facility in Sha Tin. Located adjacent to the historic Grade 1 Tsang Tai Uk Hakka walled village and the Shing Mun River, the ground combines active recreation with local heritage. It features various ball courts, an artificial turf soccer pitch, and a children's play area. Families visit to let kids play safely outdoors, enjoy recreational sports, or pair a play session with a cultural walk through the adjacent historic village.
Things to know
Beat the Heat
Being a fully outdoor venue with limited shade over the active play areas, the mid-day sun can be intense. Parents should aim to visit between 8:00 am and 10:00 am or after 4:00 pm.
Bring the Essentials
Pack water bottles, sun hats, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent (especially during the humid months from April to October).
Snack Options
There is a light refreshment kiosk on-site (located near the booking office) where families can purchase drinks and light snacks.
Incorporate Local History
Before or after playing, take a short stroll to see the Tsang Tai Uk walled village next door. It is a preserved Grade 1 historical Hakka compound built in 1847, perfect for an educational moment with older kids.
