Administered by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), this quiet waterfront sitting-out area is located along the shoreline in Wong Chuk Hang. Popular with local families, it provides a passive recreational space with a pedestrian walkway and seating areas directly overlooking the Aberdeen Marina and its yachts. It is an ideal spot for a peaceful seaside stroll, catching a harbor breeze, or taking a quick outdoor break with younger children.
Things to know
Strict Smoke-Free Zone
The entire sitting-out area is designated as a fully smoke-free public pleasure ground.
No Playground Equipment
Unlike standard active parks, this is a passive park containing benches and open pavement. It does not feature swings, slides, or climbing frames.
No Onsite Restrooms
There are no public toilets within the sitting-out area itself. The closest clean restrooms and baby-changing facilities are inside the neighboring THE SOUTHSIDE mall or Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station.
Bring Your Own Activities
Because of the lack of playground structures, parents are advised to bring lightweight outdoor activities, such as bubble-blowers, chalk, or small ride-on toys, for kids to use in the open space.

Location & getting there
Getting here
Take the South Island Line to Wong Chuk Hang Station. Go to Exit A1 or A2, then walk west along Heung Yip Road toward the Sham Wan Embankment for approximately 7 minutes.
Take any bus stopping at Nam Long Shan Road, Wong Chuk Hang Station, or Shum Wan Road, including routes 4, 38, 42, 70, 72, 75, 90, 97, 107, 170, 171, and 592.
Drive toward 11 Heung Yip Road, Wong Chuk Hang. Park at the nearby commercial garages at THE SOUTHSIDE mall or One Island South.
Taxis can drop off passengers at the Heung Yip Road entrance of THE SOUTHSIDE mall, which is just a short walk from the sitting-out area.
Easily reachable on foot via the flat pedestrian walkway running along Heung Yip Road and Sham Wan Embankment.
