Lung Mei Village Sitting-out Area
Busy times
About this place
The Lung Mei Village Sitting-out Area is a no-frills, public outdoor playground and rest garden managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). Tucked away in a traditional village setting, families visit this spot to let young children run around and enjoy basic play equipment in a relaxed, low-sensory environment, often as a quick rest stop during a day trip to nearby Tai Mei Tuk or Lung Mei Beach.
Things to know
Bring Essentials
Pack water bottles, sun hats, a small first aid kit, and mosquito repellent (highly recommended, especially between April and October). There are no convenience shops directly on-site.
Restroom Access
There are no public toilets directly inside this small sitting-out area. However, public restrooms can easily be found within a 5-minute walk in the surrounding village or at nearby Lung Mei Beach.
Beat the Humidity
In Hong Kong's hot and humid weather, the best times to visit are early morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM). Avoid mid-day visits (noon to 3:00 PM) during the summer.
Monitor Weather Alerts
If the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) issues an Amber rainfall warning or above, outdoor spaces like this empty out quickly.
